And yes! It’s Drarry!
So some of y’all know my eternal quest to write An Actual Romance Story (because oddly enough none of my current fics are romance, ALTHOUGH I maintain that Post Mortem is 100% romance. It’s just… not happy romance u feel me. Yes, I know I suck at romance).
ANYWAY. Title: Pride and Promiscuity.
Slytherin!Harry AU in which Harry becomes friends with Draco. And like around 4th year he starts developing a crush, but he’s 100% convince that nothing will come out of it because even if Draco swings every which way, he doesn’t swing anywhere near Harry’s direction, and Harry’s like “ok then, i’ll be the best friend he could ever have” because Harry is a sweetheart who wouldn’t force his feelings on anyone.
It also doesn’t help that Voldemort is rising and somehow up until now every single time he ends up in trouble against Voldemort, he’s accompanied by his #1 Frenemy, Pansy Parkinson who hates Potter, ok, but she knows an investment of a friendship when it walks on two feet and looks lost and has a scar on its forehead.
So yes, fourth year. Harry is struggling with his crush on Draco, Pansy is struggling with her family’s probable downfall thanks to Voldemort, and after the Triwizard Tournament and Voldemort’s resurrection, Harry and Pansy decide to team up properly and Do Something About This Dark Lord Situation.
In the background Dumbledore’s like idk what this is but i kinda like it.
And Harry just… his feelings for Draco don’t go away because he just fuckng likes Draco a lot, ok? Draco is like a ray of sunshine – a sunshine that keeps breaking his heart with a new bf/gf every other month but honestly, Harry’s totally fine with that. Really. He is.
In fifth & sixth year Harry and Pansy keep brainstorming together and suddenly Draco realizes that hold up, My Best Friend Harry Has Another Friend. A friend who’s a girl. And Draco isn’t sure about why but he just… doesn’t like this one bit.
And then near the end of 6th year someone who’s not Draco smuggles Death Eaters into Hogwarts and that summer Draco & Harry keep getting closer and Draco starts thinking of Harry romantically, but before anythign happens, 7th year starts and Voldemort rises to power.
Except that even though 7th year has started, Harry and Pansy are nowhere to be seen. Instead there’re only rumours and propaganda about Potter & Parkinson, enemies of the Dark Lord. And they do the whole riding a dragon outta Gringotts and breaking into the Ministry thing and Draco’s like “wait does this mean that PANSY is Harry’s best friend?”
And then a final battle and a happy ending and Pansy looks at Harry and admits that he’s tolerable and Harry’s like don’t even lie, we’re totally best friends. And then a few more chapters to wrap everything up and actually give their romance a resolution of some sort. Harry and Draco start dating or smth.
