-“mommy, the kids at school are mean to me!”

-“OH, WHAT, ARE U #TRIGGERED???, LIFE ISNT UR #SAFE SPACE LMAO”

Stay away from children for the rest of your lives please

The people who hate this are probably the ones traumatizing their children

this is a show for 3 – 6 year olds what is WRONG with these monsters???

Fun fact, sesame street was created to fill the gap in education for children whose families could not afford to send them to preschool. Sesame street taught basic math and phonics as well as interpersonal skills so that children below the poverty line weren’t starting elementary school behind their more privileged classmates.

Here sesame street is trying to fill a gap where supportive adults should be. Where there should be a teacher or a family member or a counselor to help, for whatever reason, there isn’t, so Sesame Street is stepping in.

This breed of person has always hated Sesame Street. They hated it for showing black and white children playing together. They hated it for giving children of color the head start that rich white families were paying for. They hated it for Bert and Ernie for showing two MEN who LIVED TOGETHER, for the married black nurse who lived on sesame street when it was first released, and for them explaining death. I feel like there was a pregnancy at some point in its early days and they would have REALLY hated that.

These days they don’t (usually) say “I’m not letting my kid watch anything with black kids in it” but they sure throw a tantrum in the youtube comments when Sesame Street DARES to show an autistic girl playing with non-autistic children and being treated like shes anyone else. They lose their shit when Sesame Street has to explain incarceration to 5 year olds. And the muppet in south africa with HIV? Hoo boy.

They hate everything Sesame Street stands for and tries to provide. They always have. We just have to ignore them and keep supporting the show. Or tell them to shut the fuck up and keep supporting the show. Either way Sesame Street will outlive them.

Don’t assume malice. Assume ignorance. Life is easier, the world is kinder, and you can educate. Actual malice is pretty rare, I find.

Always remember Hanlon’s Razor–”Never assume malice when incompetence will suffice as an explanation.”

That’s said, never forget Fred Clark’s Law, either: “Sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice.” There’s a certain point at which ignorance becomes malice–at which there is simply no way to become that ignorant except deliberately and maliciously.

A middle school in Achille, Oklahoma is closed following violent threats by parents on social media against Maddie, a 12-year-old transgender student who identifies as female and used the girls’ bathroom.

Maddie had been using the staff bathroom at her old school but used the girls’ bathroom at the new school because she wasn’t sure where the staff bathroom was. She was then accused of peeping under a bathroom stall. Her mother said it was probably because she “leans very far forward to use the bathroom.”

Then the threats began on a private parents’ Facebook group for the school. The parents called Maddie “it” and “thing”, suggested that her genitalia be mutilated to make her female (“a good sharp knife will do the job real quick”). One said it was “hunting season on them kind” and said there was “no bag limit.”

Maddie’s mother Brandy Rose said she fears for her life: “These are adults making threats– I don’t understand it. She’s an awesome kid. To see any fear in her, I can’t explain how bad that hurts me for them to hurt her.”

KXII reports: “The sheriff said the mother filed a protective order against one parent but no other arrests have been made, however several agencies including the FBI are stepping in to see if any comments constitute a hate crime.”

See the screenshots:

Sorry to say this but if we have to think about whether or not threatening to cut a 12 year old child is a hate crime means there is no hope for us. What has this nation become when it’s citizens feel they have a right to threaten minorities with no fear of repercussion. The only ringing heard now is the death knell of freedom..

Savages…

Transphobes literally talking about murdering a child and somehow think they’re good and wholesome people.

People like this are the reason why no one who isn’t straight or white wants to live in the south. Bunch of backwards, murderers-to-be kinfolk down there.

my balcony in the new apartment literally hovers on a cliff above a lake lmaoooo i’m LIVING

nvm the fucking living part, jfc

so the apartment complex is on a hill, by a cliff. To get there there’re these huge stone stairs, abt 7 sets of them. BEFORE the stairs, there’s an stairless uphill.

I mean right after that there’s a massive shopping center, so I have that on one side, and a lake + small forest + great picnic area on the other, but oh my god that godddddammnnnn uphill. Ya girl is getting some leg action this year.

Working out at least four times a week, eating healthy, having no caffeine or dairy, only to have my mother who I’ve been avoiding for years to randomly find me in a supermarket and call me fat along with guilt tripping me into unblocking her. So my morning is fine.

Oh and the plus side she made a scene in a fucking shop rite.

i’m like,
literally somewhere in the Baltic sea right now and my internet is absolute
shit, but I have to say this: dealing with toxic family members is hella
difficult, especially if it’s a parent, because you’ll always feel like you owe
them. Also, you love them, and don’t want them to feel hurt. That’s fine and
groovy. However, I think you also owe it to yourself to love yourself too, and
be kind to yourself, and if continuing to block her makes u feel healthier and
happier, then do what you must. It doesn’t have to be permanent, you can tackle
dealing with her when you feel like it. But basically I’m saying that I will
genuinely fistfight anyone who hurts you in any way. You’ve pulled through so
much, and your life is all yours to control now, and you’re so inspiring and amazing and i’m just??? in awe of you??? And every time i see u active on tumblr i just feel so happy. byt but anyway, your life. It’s yours, and if someone wants
you to prioritize accommodating their toxic behaviour at the expense on your
happiness, then guilt aint got your address sis. They’re the ones who should
feel guilty tbh. ilu
